Amon-Ra St. Brown

It's a must-win situation for many Fantasy players this week, and there are some important decisions that need to be made. Injuries and bye weeks bring major challenges, especially at running back, however. Jonathan Taylor is on a bye, robbing those who roster him of the best player in the game. Dalvin Cook (shoulder) could be out again and Michael Carter (ankle) is on injured reserve. The free agency list is very thin on quality performers right now. You will be scraping for options that can hopefully get you double-figure totals or adequate production. The statistical ceilings are low for primary waiver targets such as Tevin Coleman and Adrian Peterson, but Coleman has carried 27 times in the past two games and Peterson rushed for a TD in his Seattle debut.

Should Coleman or Peterson be among your primary Week 14 Fantasy football waiver wire picks? And which other players on Fantasy football waivers are worth adding to plug roster holes created by other injuries or bye weeks? Before determining who to target on the Week 14 Fantasy football waiver wire, be sure to see what SportsLine's resident Hall of Famer, Scott Engel, has to say.

Top Fantasy football waiver wire picks for Week 14

One player Engel is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 14 waiver wire: Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn. The Vikings lost top TD threat Adam Thielen in Sunday's upset loss to Detroit. Osborn certainly filled in adequately for Thielen even though Minnesota absorbed a stunning defeat. He caught his third TD pass of the season and had four receptions and 47 yards on seven targets. Osborn looks like he will start in Week 14 against Pittsburgh and can produce even better totals on Thursday night.

Thielen has a high ankle sprain, so it appears highly unlikely he will play, especially on a short turnaround in Week 14. Osborn has certainly displayed the potential to produce quality totals. He opened the season with 12 catches for 167 yards and a TD in the first two games of the year. Now in an expanded role, Osborn can possibly be utilized as a streaming Fantasy WR3 or injury replacement. He certainly can benefit from all the defensive attention Justin Jefferson will draw.

Engel is also strongly recommending Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The rookie caught the game-winning TD pass in Detroit's win over Minnesota on Sunday. St. Brown became a hero as the Lions earned their first win since Week 13 of the 2020 season. Yet he also came through with an overall performance that now makes him worthy of Fantasy roster consideration.

St. Brown was targeted a career-high 12 times in Week 13 and finished with 10 catches, also a new best for him. He had caught 15 passes in his last four games and had not scored prior to Sunday. So St. Brown has to show more to gain Fantasy trust. But considering the heavy amount of targets, and the fact that he had three seven-plus target games in October, the potential is there for St. Brown to finish strong during the most important stretch of the Fantasy season.
