  • Damion Willis: Gets cut Friday

Willis was restored to the Steelers' practice squad from the COVID-19 list then cut Friday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Willis joined the Steelers' practice squad Dec. 28 and ended up in COVID protocols five days later. He's also spent time with the Giants' and Washington's practice squads this season but never appeared on an active roster.

  • Damion Willis: Lands on COVID list

Willis has been placed on the Steelers' practice squad reserve/COVID-19 list, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports. He will now need to clear the league's health and safety protocols before returning to practice.

  • Damion Willis: Added to Steelers' practice squad

Willis was signed to the Steelers' practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports. The wide receiver was released from Washington's practice squad Nov. 23, and he now joins the Steelers' practice squad. Willis has not played in an NFL game since the 2019 season, when he appeared in 10 contests with the Bengals, making nine catches on 16 targets for 82 yards.

  • Damion Willis: Dropped by Washington

Willis was released from Washington's practice squad Tuesday. The wide receiver was signed to the practice squad Oct. 5 but failed to crack the active roster at any point before his release Tuesday. Willis played in 10 games for the Bengals in 2020, catching nine passes for 82 yards. The 24-year-old's next opportunity will likely be another practice squad.

  • Giants' Damion Willis: Signs with Big Blue

Willis signed a contract with the Giants on Saturday. Willis was waived by the Broncos just before the start of training camp, but he's now latched on with a new team. The 24-year-old hasn't seen game action since catching nine passes for 82 yards in 10 games with the Bengals in 2019.

  • Broncos' Damion Willis: Joins Denver

Willis signed a contract with the Broncos on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It's a bit odd to see the Broncos sign a free agent wide receiver after recently releasing 2018 fourth-round pick DaeSean Hamilton (knee), but Willis likely is meant to just provide some depth at the position. The 23-year-old had stints on the Browns and Jaguars practice squad last season, but hasn't played in a game since 2019.

  • Damion Willis: Works out with Lions

The Lions hosted Willis (undisclosed) for a workout Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. The Browns waived Willis with an injury designation in August, but he's healthy and looking for a fresh start. The Troy product played 10 games with the Bengals last year and caught nine of 16 targets for 82 yards.

  • Browns' Damion Willis: Latches on with Cleveland

The Browns claimed Willis off waivers Wednesday. Willis was let go by the Bengals after he produced nine catches for 82 yards across 10 games as a rookie last season. The undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2019 could just be a depth option in camp with Damion Ratley (groin) and KhaDarel Hodge (personal) missing camp.

  • Damion Willis: Done in Cincinnati

The Bengals waived Willis on Tuesday. Willis had nine catches for 82 yards across 10 games as a rookie with the Bengals last season. He also spent time on the team's practice squad. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound wideout will now look to earn a depth role elsewhere in the league.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Good to go

Willis (undisclosed) passed his physical Monday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports. Willis jumped on and off the 53-man roster for Cincinnati in 2019, ultimately finishing his rookie campaign with nine receptions for 82 yards. With A.J. Green healthy and the team adding Tee Higgins via the draft, Willis will likely face an uphill battle to secure a spot this season.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Nine grabs in 2019

Willis hauled in nine of 16 targets for 82 yards across 10 regular-season games in 2019. Willis spent the season shifting between Cincinnati's practice squad and active roster, and injuries to both A.J. Green and John Ross played a role in his earning a depth role. He'll fight to carve out a larger workload in 2020.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Inactive for Week 16

Willis (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports. With Willis inactive and A.J. Green (ankle) still out, the bulk of the Bengals' passing game likely will be targeted toward Tyler Boyd, John Ross and Alex Erickson in a plus matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Jumps to 53-man roster

The Bengals promoted Willis to the active roster Tuesday, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The undrafted rookie out of Troy has played 10 games for the Bengals this year, recording 82 yards on nine receptions. There's no indication that A.J. Green (ankle) will be back for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots, but Willis will serve in a depth role regardless.

  • Damion Willis: Joins practice squad

The Bengals signed Willis to the practice squad Thursday. Willis was waived by the Bengals on Wednesday, and he now rejoins the team's practice squad. The rookie out of Troy could be called up to the active roster later in the season if he shows well on special teams.

  • Damion Willis: Drops to waivers

The Bengals waived Willis on Wednesday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports. This shouldn't be construed as a sign A.J. Green (ankle) is near a return, as Willis played just 10 offensive snaps over the last two games and drew one target. The undrafted rookie is a candidate for the team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Gains eight yards

Willis caught his only target for an eight-yard gain during Monday's 27-3 loss to the Steelers. Following Willis' five-target, three-catch debut, the rookie receiver has just two catches on four targets in his last three games. Given his role as a down-roster receiver on a Bengals offense that has failed to top 20 points through the first quarter of the season, he shouldn't garner any consideration for fantasy purposes, even with a favorable matchup against Arizona's 24th-ranked pass defense on deck.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Special teams only

Willis was limited to four special teams snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bills. Willis has been bypassed by Auden Tate in the Bengals' receiving corps and is at risk of losing his roster spot once A.J. Green (ankle) returns. The good news for him is that Green won't return for Week 4, but it's a far cry from Week 1, when Willis started against the Seahawks.

  • Bengals' Damion Willis: Three catches Week 1

Willis had three catches for 30 yards in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He had five targets in the passing game. Willis nominally was the starter for the Bengals, but the real story was John Ross's breakout game. Still, he's one of the three most used receivers for the Bengals right now, behind Tyler Boyd and Ross, until A.J. Green (ankle) returns.
