Williams spent the first 14 weeks of the season on injured reserve after undergoing ankle surgery in August. The Ravens activated Williams (ankle) from the injured reserve list Tuesday. Williams was placed on IR on Aug. 31 after undergoing a surgical procedure for an ankle injury. He was designated to return from injured reserve Nov. 21 and has been a full participant in practice since then. Williams (ankle) is slated to have surgery that will likely leave him sidelined for the start of the season, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Coach John Harbaugh indicated Williams will likely be ready by October, so he is unlikely to be placed on injured reserve until the final roster cuts are set. Williams (undisclosed) left practice early Thursday and was carted off the field, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Williams was able to walk after being taken from the field, so it's hard to say how severe the injury may be.
