Baugh (undisclosed) reverted to the Panthers' injured reserve on Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Baugh was waived/injured by the team prior to final roster cuts, but he ended up going unclaimed. He will stay there for the rest of the season unless both parties reach an injury settlement once his health allows it.
Baugh was cut by the Panthers on Saturday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Baugh never had a strong chance to make the Panthers' 53-man roster, with Greg Olsen and Ian Thomas solidified as the team's top two tight ends. He'll look to earn a reserve role with another team.
The Panthers signed Baugh to a one-year contract Tuesday.
Baugh was one of the top tight ends in the Alliance of American Football this spring, snagging 13 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers signed him along with Cole Hunt, but Baugh has an uphill battle to secure a roster spot considering there are currently seven tight ends on the roster.
