  • Sammy Watkins: Works out with Colts

Watkins had a workout with the Colts on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The Colts were in the market for a wide receiver at the trade deadline, but they ultimately failed to make a deal. Watkins racked up 206 yards and zero touchdowns in nine appearances with the Packers in 2022 before finishing the year tallying four appearances with the Ravens. The veteran pass catcher has been patiently awaiting an opporunity this season, and it remains to be seen if he did enough to earn that in Indy.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Topsy turvy 2022 season

Watkins caught four of eight targets for 131 yards in four games with the Ravens in 2022. The veteran began the year in Green Bay but was released in December. He landed back in Baltimore for his second stint with the club and played an average of 29.8 snaps per game in that span. Overall, Watkins caught 27 of 49 targets for 394 yards and a touchdown, and his 8.0 YPT average was his best since 2018 while with the Chiefs. He was on a one-year deal prior to being released by the Packers and will likely hit free agency again this offseason. Watkins will be entering his age-30 season, and it's unlikely at this stage that he will be inked to a long-term deal at his next destination.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Draws four targets in Week 18

Watkins finished with two catches for 79 yards on four targets in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Bengals. Making his third appearance for the Ravens since being claimed off waivers from the Packers, Watkins made a couple of splash plays and finished the regular-season finale as the team's second-leading receiver behind tight end Isaiah Likely (eight catches for 103 yards). Watkins played 37 of the Ravens' 75 snaps on offense (49 percent) and appears poised to retain a top-three role in the wideout corps in this Sunday's rematch with the Bengals in the wild-card round.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Not targeted in loss

Watkins failed to record a single target in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Steelers. Watkins played 22 of the Ravens' 52 offensive snaps Sunday, operating as the team's No. 2 receiver behind Demarcus Robinson. The veteran wideout wasn't able to get involved in the offense with limited opportunities on the field. Watkins will look to be more productive in a Week 18 matchup with the Bengals, though it is unclear if Baltimore will have Lamar Jackson back under center.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Catches one pass

Watkins caught his only target for 40 yards in Saturday's 17-9 win over the Falcons. In his first game with the Ravens, Watkins was only targeted once but his 40-yard reception was the Ravens' biggest play on offense in the contest. The 29-year-old wideout filled in as Baltimore's No. 2 receiver behind Demarcus Robinson with Devin Duvernay (foot) out for the remainder of the season. It's possible Watkins could play a potentially solid role in the Ravens' passing attack, but the team's run-heavy approach will make it hard to trust the veteran down the stretch. Watkins will look to get more involved when the Ravens host the Steelers in Week 17.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Will be available Saturday

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Thursday that Watkins is likely to play Saturday against the Falcons, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports. "We're probably going to play him," Harbaugh said. "He looks great. There was some familiarity with the offense, and I'm really, really happy and excited to have him." Watkins isn't returning from an injury and already has prior experience with offensive coordinator Greg Roman's system from their time together in Baltimore last season, so it comes as little surprise that the wideout is on track to have a role Saturday even though he didn't rejoin the Ravens until Tuesday after being claimed off waivers from Green Bay. Even if Watkins didn't have prior experience with the system, Baltimore might not have had a choice but to throw him in the fire right away, as an already weak receiver room became even thinner when Devin Duvernay fractured his right foot in Tuesday's practice. With Duvernay now joining Tylan Wallace (hamstring) and Rashod Bateman (foot) on injured reserve, Watkins is set to challenge Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson and James Proche for snaps and targets at receiver.

  • Ravens' Sammy Watkins: Lands back in Baltimore

The Ravens claimed Watkins off waivers from the Packers on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Watkins disappointed in Baltimore in 2021 and didn't do much for the Packers this season before being cut Monday, but he could get some playing time on a Ravens team that's more desperate than ever for help at wide receiver. Demarcus Robinson and Devin Duvernay have gotten most of the wideout snaps recently, with DeSean Jackson and occasionally James Proche getting some run off the bench. It doesn't hurt that Watkins knows the system from spending the previous season in Baltimore.

  • Sammy Watkins: Time up in Green Bay

The Packers plan to waive Watkins on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Watkins' role in Green Bay had been minimal recently, as he failed to record double-digit offensive snaps in either of his last two games. With Christian Watson's emergence and Romeo Doubs set to return from injury for Monday's game against the Rams, it appears the veteran simply no longer has a place on the offense. Through nine appearances this season, Watkins racked up just 13 catches for 206 yards without a touchdown on 22 targets.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Role remains minimal

Watkins played seven snaps and was not targeted in Sunday's 28-19 victory over the Bears. A key block from Watkins sprung fellow wideout Christian Watson's game-clinching 46-yard touchdown run with just under two minutes to play, but he finished without a reception for a third straight game and without a target for the second time is as many weeks. Watkins finished fifth among Packers wideouts in snaps in Week 13, and he could fall one spot further when the Packers next take the field Week 15, as Romeo Doubs (ankle) should be ready to get back on the field by then.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Limited to four snaps in loss

Watkins played four snaps and was not targeted in Sunday's 40-33 loss to the Eagles. Watkins played at least 20 snaps in all seven of the games he'd appeared in prior to Week 12, but he was nearly eliminated from the game plan Sunday as the Packers chose to use more multi-tight end sets. It will be tough for him to provide any help for fantasy players in his current role, as the Packers still have a bye on the schedule and have more reason to give snaps to younger wideouts like Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs (ankle).

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Held without catch in Week 11

Watkins was targeted twice but did not catch a pass in Thursday's 27-17 loss to the Titans. Watkins made a couple plays in the Packers' Week 10 victory over the Cowboys, but he was a non-factor a few days later. Watkins trailed Allen Lazard, Christian Watson and Randall Cobb in snaps Thursday, and as long as those three remain healthy, that will likely turn into a trend.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Gains 47 yards in OT win

Watkins caught all three of his targets for 47 yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over Dallas. Watkins turned in his best performance since Week 2 when he had 93 yards on three receptions. The 2014 first-round pick has struggled to find success with his new club despite Green Bay's desperate need for reliable receivers. Watkins should continue to operate no lower than third on the receiver depth chart while Romeo Doubs (ankle) and Randall Cobb (ankle) are sidelined, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect a whole lot from the veteran against the Titans on Thursday.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Returns as limited participant

Watkins (knee) was limited at Thursday's practice. One day removed from sitting out due to a knee issue, Watkins was back on the field with a cap on his reps. On Wednesday, coach Matt LaFleur relayed to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that "bumps and bruises" are partly to blame for Watkins' lacking production over the last three games, which followed an IR stint due to a hamstring injury. While Watkins is trending in the right direction, he still may enter the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. If he's available to the Packers, Watkins will be part of the solution with rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs in line to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, along with Allen Lazard (shoulder) -- who was limited in both Week 10 sessions so far -- and Christian Watson, among others.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Absence due to knee injury

Watkins didn't practice Wednesday due to a knee injury. Earlier Wednesday, head coach Matt LaFleur told Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Watkins is dealing with some "bumps and bruises," which in part are to blame for his lack of impact in three games since returning from injured reserve. During that span, he's hauled in just four of 10 targets for 48 yards and no touchdowns, despite ranging between 53 and 83 percent of the offensive plays. With a knee injury in tow, Watkins' status will be one to watch as the week continues, especially with all of Allen Lazard (shoulder, limited participant), Romeo Doubs (ankle, out 4-to-6 weeks) and Christian Watson (concussion protocol, full participant) showing up on the Packers' first Week 10 practice report.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Another quiet appearance

Watkins was targeted five times and caught one pass for nine yards in Sunday's 15-9 loss to the Lions. The five targets Watkins drew were a season high, as were the 57 snaps he played Sunday. Despite the increased opportunities though, including three looks in the red zone, he still made only a minor mark in the box score. The veteran wideout could continue to see increased volume with rookies Romeo Doubs (ankle) and Christian Watson (head) exiting Sunday's game early, but with four receptions and 48 yards over his last three appearances, Watkins hasn't been a fantasy factor.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Finishes with one reception

Watkins was targeted once and caught one pass for three yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills. Watkins started Sunday's contest and finished a clear second among Packers wideouts with 52 snaps, but after catching a pass on the third play of the game he did not see even one more thrown his direction. He will have a favorable matchup when the Packers travel to Detroit in Week 9, but given that he has racked up only 150 yards in the four games he has appeared in -- with over a third of those coming on one Week 2 reception -- there is not a lot for fantasy players to hang their hats on.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Stays limited at practice

Watkins (hamstring) was limited at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. The same can be said for rookie second-rounder Christian Watson (hamstring), while top wide receiver Allen Lazard told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette on Thursday that he likely won't be available Sunday in Buffalo. Assuming Watkins and/or Watson are able to suit up this weekend, they'll join rookie fourth-round pick Romeo Doubs as the primary options at the position for Aaron Rodgers (right thumb).

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Listed as limited Wednesday

Watkins (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. In his return from a four-game absence this past Sunday at Washington, Watkins mostly was invisible in the Packers' passing game outside of a 28-yard catch on the final possession. As such, it's no surprise that he's being listed with the same hamstring injury that forced the absence. Watkins will have two more chances to get back to full activity before the team potentially hands him a designation for Sunday's visit to Buffalo.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Pair of catches in return

Watkins (hamstring) brought in two of four targets for 36 yards in the Packers' 23-21 loss to the Commanders on Sunday. The veteran couldn't make much of an impact even with Randall Cobb (IR-ankle) out of action, with his biggest reception (28 yards) coming on Green Bay's last drive on a contested catch. Watkins could play an important role for the struggling Aaron Rodgers during Cobb's multi-game absence, and he'll aim to boost his numbers against his former Bills squad in a Week 8 Sunday night road battle.

  • Packers' Sammy Watkins: Back from four-week absence

Watkins (hamstring) is active Week 7 against Washington. It has been a quick turnaround for Watkins, who was activated from IR on Saturday and given a questionable tag for the matchup. He'll ultimately end up suiting up for the first time since Week 2, bolstering a wide-receiver corps in need of depth following the loss of Randall Cobb (ankle). Still, it wouldn't be surprising to see him working behind Allen Lazard and Romeo Doubs with respect to snap count and targets.
