It's championship weekend. While the Big 12 and Sun Belt will both be finishing their regular season (neither conference plays a title game), every other league will be playing its conference championship.

The Pac-12 and MAC get theirs out of the way on Friday night, and then the ACC, American, Big Ten, C-USA, Mountain West and SEC all decide their champions on Saturday.

Of course, as important as conference championships are, there's even more on the line for a lot of these teams. There are playoff spots to be won, as well as a Cotton Bowl berth for a Group of Five champion.

So you're going to want to follow along as close as you can, which will be a lot easier to do thanks to this handy guide.

Marquee matchups

All times are ET.

Temple at No. 19 Navy -- Noon, ABC: How old are you right now? OK, now take your age and subtract a month from it, and that's how old you were the last time Navy had to punt. Yes, the age question would have had more impact had it been years, but you still have to admit that not having to punt in a month is still pretty impressive. That's what Temple will need to contend with if it wants to win the AAC on Saturday. As for Navy, even if Western Michigan wins the MAC on Friday night, the Mids are still alive for that Group of Five berth, and an impressive win over Temple could be enough to boost them ahead of the Broncos in the playoff rankings. If Western Michigan loses on Friday night, this game becomes even more important for both teams.

No. 10 Oklahoma State at No. 9 Oklahoma -- 12:30 p.m., Fox: It's not a conference championship game, but it's a conference championship game. The winner of this annual rivalry game known to all as Bedlam will be your 2016 Big 12 champion. Unfortunately for both, based on the way the CFP ranked them, it doesn't appear that the winner has much of a shot at a playoff berth. Of course, considering how the CFP seems to change its criteria on a weekly basis, we probably shouldn't assume anything when it comes to how they rank teams. Whatever the case, this game is called Bedlam for a reason, and things tend to get crazy between these two teams. So no matter the playoff impact, this will make for some excellent viewing on Saturday.

No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 15 Florida (in Atlanta) -- 4 p.m., CBS: There aren't many people giving Florida much of a chance in this game -- it's currently a 24-point underdog -- and I don't know if I'm capable of convincing you they actually have one, either. Yes, Florida won the SEC East, but the division was, let's just say, less than good this year, and Florida is banged up pretty good. Then there's Alabama. That seemingly unstoppable death machine. Tune in because you never really know what's going to happen, even when you totally know what's going to happen.

No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 23 Virginia Tech (in Orlando) -- 8 p.m., ABC: Ever since it beat Louisville, there hasn't been much doubt that Clemson has been the best team in the ACC yet again this season, and the Tigers are poised for another playoff trip because of it. In order to get there, they'll need to beat Virginia Tech. Even though Clemson is a double-digit favorite, don't overlook the Hokies. They're one of the most unpredictable teams in the country this season, and because of it, there are a variety of possible outcomes in this one.

No. 6 Wisconsin vs. No. 7 Penn State (in Indianapolis) -- 8 p.m., Fox: In a year where just about everybody's been in agreement that the Big Ten has been the best conference from top-to-bottom, it doesn't feel right that the conference's champion could miss out on a playoff berth, but that's exactly the situation we're looking at right here. Both Wisconsin and Penn State find themselves behind Ohio State and Michigan in the rankings, and unless a couple of other teams ahead of them -- Washington and Clemson to be clear -- lose their conference title games, it looks like this is an old fashioned Big Ten title game in that the winner is playing for a Rose Bowl berth and nothing more. That's a nice consolation prize, sure, but it would still be awkward to see the Big Ten champion playing in the Rose Bowl while a Big Ten team that didn't even win its own division, let alone the conference, ends up playing for a national title.
