Man vs. Woman vs. Machine is a feature that runs every Thursday afternoon. It's here where Tom Fornelli fights against the rising tide of female empowerment and technology to ensure that men everywhere can at least claim college football is still theirs. He does this by picking a set of games against the spread against his girlfriend, Lynn, and his Playstation 3.

I wish I was facing my fellow CBSSports.com experts in this contest. I dug myself a hole in the competition and while I may be slowly gaining on Woman in the standings here, I'm faring much better in our Expert Picks. I actually went 12-3 there last week, which was quite a bit better than the 6-3-1 record I managed here.

I can only hope where Woman would rank if we included her in our Expert Picks.

It'd be nice to not be the only one being beaten by her week after week.

UCLA (-4) at Utah -- Thursday, 10 p.m. (All times Eastern)

Man: I really don't like picking this game because I feel like UCLA is clearly the better team here, but it's a Thursday night game and underdogs typically do well in these contests. Especially when the underdog is the home team. But I still have to go with the team I feel has too much of a talent advantage. Pick: UCLA

Woman: UCLA coach Jim Mora Jr.: "We've heard it's a hostile environment." Pick: Utah

Machine: You're not going to have to stay up real late to know how this one will end. The Machine has UCLA rolling 35-10. Pick: UCLA

Brigham Young at Utah State (-6.5) -- Friday, 8 p.m.

Man: Friday night is Utah State night. I know that BYU defense is tough, but my mancrush on Chuckie Keeton hasn't ended yet, so I'm rolling with my guy. Pick: Utah State

Woman: Must be all that whole milk and fresh air, because Utah's teams are playing some great football this season. I really wanted to give the Old Wagon Wheel to BYU this year just so I could show the last forty seconds of this video. But then I'd have to ignore the Aggie's volatile offense and ferocious Logan home crowd. Pick: Utah State

Machine: It's a clean sweep as the Machine sees Utah State pulling this one out 24-17 in overtime. Pick: Utah State

Maryland at Florida State (-15) -- Saturday, Noon

Man: Maryland is 4-0, yes, but it's not the most impressive 4-0 when you look at its schedule. That and the fact I'm finally starting to believe in this Florida State team, and it was Jameis Winston's second quarter performance last week that did it. Of course this just means that the Seminoles will falter this week. Pick: Florida State

Woman: As a fan of the Seminoles, I'm all too aware that at some point every season for far too many years, they flame out against a lesser team. So when they're facing the red hot 4-0 Terps offense plus a defense that leads the ACC in sacks, I close my eyes and see... that game. Pick: Maryland

Machine: The Machine likes turtles. Florida State wins 27-20. Pick: Maryland

Georgia (-10.5) at Tennessee -- Saturday, 3:30 p.m.

Man: There is fear of a letdown here, but come on. Did you see what Georgia did to LSU's defense? And have you seen what teams have done to Tennessee's defense? This one seems almost too obvious, but I don't care. Pick: Georgia

Woman: The post-Clemson juggernaut that is Georgia (or as I pretend I like to call it, the UGAnaut) rolls through Knoxville on Saturday. Many will perish. Pick: Georgia

Machine: Not a whole lot of faith here in the creamsicle, as Georgia wins 37-13. Pick: Georgia

Georgia Tech at Miami (-5.5) -- Saturday, 3:30 p.m.

Man: I don't think Miami is a great team or anything, but I've seen enough from its front seven on defense to be confident in its ability to slow down Georgia's option attack. Pick: Miami

Woman: Like a bell you can't un-ring, I can't un-see that Yellowjackets offensive debacle against Virginia Tech last week. I'd bet straight up on Miami in a heartbeat but the question is, can they cover the spread against GaTech's muscular defense? Even if you halve the Hurricane's average weekly points scored, that's 23 - enough to take this down. Pick: Miami

Machine: It's another clean sweep as the Machine sees Miami squeezing this one out 27-21. Pick: Miami

TCU at Oklahoma (-10.5) -- Saturday, 7 p.m.

Man: I just have not been all that impressed with TCU this season, and Oklahoma seems to have figured things out on both sides of the ball. Combine that with the Sooners stellar performance at home under Bob Stoops and I'll give up the points. Pick: Oklahoma

Woman: With TCU losing to both LSU and Texas Tech by 10 points, this spread feels a bit dangerous. And there's the worry that the Sooners are still riding the Irish buzz and not focused on this week. But I ain't skurred. As confident as I am pronouncing Okemah and Chickasha, that's how much I believe in Belldozer and the wild Norman crowd. Pick: Oklahoma

Machine: The Machine is big on amphibious life forms this week. It picked the Terps to cover earlier and now it sees the Frogs pulling off the upset 28-24. Pick: TCU

Ole Miss (-2.5) at Auburn -- Saturday, 7 p.m.

Man: While it doesn't matter, I'm actually picking Auburn to win this game straight up. Ole Miss' run defense has had problems this season and Auburn can run the football. So I think Gus Malzahn will get his biggest win so far. Pick: Auburn

Woman: Against The Spread 101: When picking between two evenly matched teams who both lost last week, pick the home team - especially when you're getting points. Pick: Auburn

Machine: A week after being shutout by Alabama the Machine only sees Ole Miss managing a touchdown in this matchup. Auburn wins 27-7. Pick: Auburn

Arizona State (-5) vs Notre Dame (in Arlington, Texas) -- Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Man: I feel bad for all the people who will have to look at Arizona State's helmets during this game on that giant scoreboard hanging above the field. As for the game, Notre Dame has gone 4-12 when allowing 21 points or more under Brian Kelly, and I just have a hard time envisioning this Notre Dame defense keeping the Sun Devils under 21 points in this game. Pick: Arizona State

Woman: Hey look, it's Kelly versus Kelly! The young one wins. Pick: Arizona State

Machine: Wow, the three of us are agreeing on a lot lately. Given the Machine's track record on the season that's probably a bad thing for Woman and I. Arizona State wins 31-20. Pick: Arizona State

Ohio State (-5.5) at Northwestern -- Saturday, 8 p.m.

Man: Northwestern's defense struggled against both Cal and Syracuse this season and neither of those teams comes close to what Ohio State can do with the football. Braxton Miller is healthy and as deadly as ever, and there's nothing Urban Meyer would love to do more than spoil Northwestern's special night. I don't think this one will be close. Pick: Ohio State

Woman: Maybe Game Day fever has my thinking muddled. Ohio State's coming off an exhausting game with Wisconsin while Pat Fitzgerald's coming off two weeks to prepare and has returning star RB Venrick Mark as part of his arsenal. So, despite the superlative Braxton Miller and a home game filled with the unrivaled intensity of Northwestern football fans, I'm willing to take a chance they'll at least keep it close. Pick: Northwestern

Machine: Northwestern hangs in there for the first three quarters but loses control thanks to some turnovers late. Ohio State pulls away to win 42-28. Pick: Ohio State

Washington at Stanford (-6.5) -- Saturday, 10:30 p.m.

Man: I've been impressed by what Washington has done, but the Huskies haven't really faced an opponent like Stanford as of yet. And while I think the Huskies are fully capable of knocking the Cardinal off -- they did last season after all -- I'm taking more of a "prove it" approach to this game. Pick: Stanford

Woman: This one will be a possession-by-possession slugfest to see who sits atop the Pac-12 standings. With a defense ranked 4th best in the country, the Huskies have been impressive this season but they have yet to prove themselves in hostile territory against a an elite team. A brutal game - Stanford will set the pace early and the Huskies never quite catch up. Pick: Stanford

Machine: The Huskies don't pull off the upset, but they come awfully close. Stanford wins 24-21. Pick: Washington
