Friday was the deadline for teams and eligible players to exchange salary arbitration figures, though most don't make it that far. The two sides usually agreed to a contract before then, which was certainly the case this year. Dozens of players avoided arbitration with one-year contracts Friday.
Those who didn't agree to a contract filed a salary figure, as did the team. Arbitration hearings begin next month, but the two sides can still agree to a contract any time before then. If they do go to a hearing, the three-person arbitration panel will pick either the salary filed by the player or the salary filed by the team -- nothing in between -- based on their arguments.

Blue Jays: Re-signed IF Munenori Kawasaki to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, the club announced.
Giants: Signed OF Norichika Aoki to a one-year deal worth $4.7 million. He'll earn $4 million in 2015 with a $700,000 buyout of a 2016 option. The deal includes performance bonuses and the contract can be worth $12.5 million total. Aoki turned down more money and multiyear offers elsewhere because he liked the fit in San Francisco.
Phillies: Claimed OF Jordan Danks off waivers from the White Sox, the team announced.
Pirates: Signed SS Jung-Ho Kang to a four-year contract worth $11 million with a $5.5 million club option. (Jon Heyman)
