1. It has been years In the making

2. It's a legacy fight
No matter how long the fight took to put together, it's a bout both boxers needed. Floyd Mayweather is trying to place himself among the greatest of all time. And without a fight against Manny Pacquiao, questions of his immortality in the ring would persist.

3. It's a red-carpet event
Press conferences to announce boxing matches aren't usually a big deal. Not so when it's the Fight of the Century. Pacquiao walked the red carpet prior to the event. Mayweather was fashionably late, of course.

4. They aren't spring chickens
The hype for nearly a decade has whet our appetite for this fight, sure, but it was now or never for Pac Man and Money. Pacquiao is 36 years young, while Mayweather is 38.

5. It's for the undefeated streak to continue
Money is a perfect 47-0 in the ring with no fighters, other than Pacquiao, to challenge his record.

6. It's for a brand new belt
The winner of the Fight of the Century will be awarded a new belt valued at $1 million. It's a replica of the current belt, but it has been designed with hundreds of emeralds and the faces of both boxers, WBC president Jose Sulaiman and Muhammad Ali.

7. It's not free for celebs
Tickets for the bout are in such high demand that even A-list celebrities have to pay for a seat ... unless they agree to be a walking advertisement. If the rich and famous agree to wear sponsored threads, they'll get their seat comped.

8. It's a pricey PPV
Typical Pay-Per-View fights are in the $50-$60 range. Expect this super fight to cost a little extra coinage. The price could be as high as $100 to purchase. Cha-ching.

9. It's crazy expensive to go
If you thought the PPV cost a pretty penny, then you haven't seen the ticket prices in Vegas. Seats are reportedly between $3,500 and a cool $250,000 to sit ringside. The processing fee must be insane!

10. It's finally getting personal
Although negotiations for the fight started back in 2009, Mayweather and Pac Man didn't meet face to face until a Miami Heat game in 2015. Talks caught fire after their meeting of the minds.

11. It's going to be a record breaker
PPV buys are expected to be in the four million to five million range, which should exceed the record of 2.4 million set by Mayweather versus Oscar De La Hoya.

12. $300 million match
Promoter Bob Arum believes that after all is said and done the fight will be worth a total of $300 million to the two fighters. With 60 percent of the purse, Mayweather could pocket $180 million, while Pacquiao would walk away with $120 million.

13. Pacquiao could win free food for life
Pacquiao's favorite Filipino restaurant, Gerry's Grill, offered the eight-division world champ free food for life if he defeats Mayweather. As if the fighters need free anything after this huge May pay day.
