When conversations arise about coaches who have succeeded at a high level via the transfer market, Eric Musselman's name is usually the initial one mentioned — first because of what he did in four seasons at Nevada, then because of what he's already done in two seasons at Arkansas.

The longtime Oregon coach just won the Pac-12 outright title with a roster highlighted by Division I transfers — among them leading scorer Eugene Omuruyi (Rutgers), third-leading scorer LJ Figueroa (St. John's) and fifth-leading scorer Eric Williams (Duquesne). In fact, five of Oregon's top nine scorers this season were Division I transfers. And now Altman is doing it again — most recently with the addition of Oklahoma transfer De'Vion Harmon.
Harmon averaged 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals this season for a Sooners team that secured a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Round of 32. He should start in Oregon's backcourt next to Will Richardson and help the Ducks be the biggest threat to UCLA in the Pac-12. His addition moved Oregon up to No. 21 in Version 6.0 of the 2020-21 CBS Sports Preseason Top 25 And 1.

That ranking is based on the idea of every meaningful player who helped the Bruins make the Final Four, and finish 13th at KenPom, returning to Westwood for at least one more year of college. Obviously, Johnny Juzang has a decision to make about the NBA Draft -- whether to remain in it or withdraw before the deadline to do so. But if he comes back, and picks up right where he left off, UCLA -- which is adding five-star prospect Peyton Watson and Rutgers transfer Myles Johnson to its experienced core -- should have a real chance to win what would be the 12th national title in school history.
