Edler (lower body) was formally moved to injured reserve Sunday, Lisa Dillman of The Athletic reports.
This news doesn't come as a surprise given that Edler was already expected to be out long-term with the injury suffered Saturday against Minnesota. The veteran defenseman isn't expected back until sometime in the new year, though a more specific timetable for a return has yet to be announced.
