The U.S. men's 4x100 relay team from the 2012 London Olympics has had its silver medal stripped by the International Olympic Committe, sources told the Associated Press.

The team was disqualified and stripped of the medal due to the results of Tyson Gay's doping allegations. Gay had already returned his medal from the 2012 games and has been banned for one year.

According to international rules, one member of a relay team found to be doping can result in an entire team being disqualified and stripped of medals. Other members of the U.S. relay team that will be forced to forfeit their medals include Trell Kimmons, Justin Gatlin, Ryan Bailey, Jeffery Demps and Darvis Patton.
