Because of the unusual structure of the West Coast Conference Tournament that automatically advances the top two seeds to the semifinals, it's been nine days since Gonzaga last played. But the team that remains No. 1 in Monday morning's updated CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings will return to the court Monday night, and the Zags are now just two wins away from becoming the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
Their WCC semifinal opponent is San Francisco.
San Francisco isn't a name that resonates in the sport — but the Dons are legitimately good this season. They're now widely considered to be a lock for an at-large bid to the 2022 NCAA Tournament and currently ranked 21st at KenPom.com, which is higher than Alabama, Ohio State, Memphis and the North Carolina team that spent this past weekend ruining Duke coach MIke Krzyzewski's final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Based on the current KenPom numbers, San Francisco would be a favorite on a neutral-court over Big Ten champion Wisconsin and Big East champion Providence. The Zags have already beaten them twice this season — first by 16 points at home in January, then by 16 points on the road in February.
Gonzaga is a 14-point favorite Monday night.

Saint Mary's vs. Santa Clara represents Monday's second WCC semifinal. The Gaels are listed as 5-point favorites in that one. They're ranked 14th in the Top 25 And 1.
