-- Alabama leads the way with three first-team selections and six overall nods. Michigan and USC check in next with four total selections.

-- USC's Adoree' Jackson appears on the two teams a record four times combined: cornerback and punt returner on the first team, kick returner and all-purpose player on the second team. Michigan's Jabrill Peppers appears three times, adding a second-team nod at punt returner to first-team selections at linebacker and all-purpose player.

-- Despite each losing four games, Florida and Auburn out of the SEC each placed three players on the combined teams.

-- It is the second straight year that a true freshman has made the CBS Sports All-America First Team with Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver following up Florida punt returner Antonio Callaway from 2015.

-- Florida State running back Dalvin Cook, Ohio State center Pat Elflein, Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen, Clemson defensive tackle Carlos Watkins and LSU safety Jamal Adams are all first-teamers who were also on the CBS Sports 2016 Preseason All-America First Team.

-- There were no unanimous first-team selections, nor were there any repeat selections from the CBS Sports 2015 All-America team.

-- CBS Sports postseason awards for player, coach and freshman of the year will be announced Wednesday.
