Marshall will wear helmets to commemorate one of the worst tragedies in sports history this weekend in its game against Middle Tennessee State.

On Nov. 14, 1970, a charter flight carrying 37 members of the Marshall football team, nine coaches, 25 boosters and four flight crew members crashed on its way back from Marshall's game against East Carolina. All 75 people on board perished in the crash, which remains the deadliest tragedy involving any sports team to this day.

These are the helmets the Thundering Herd will wear on Saturday against the Blue Raiders.
