Copp picked up his first multi-point effort of the playoffs, setting up goals by K'Andre Miller and Mika Zibanejad to help the Rangers twice erase one-goal deficits. The 27-year-old Copp finished the first round with four goals, three helpers, 17 shots on net, eight hits and a plus-4 rating through seven contests. His quality defensive play and ability to chip in on offense have earned him a top-six role that should continue into a second-round matchup against the Hurricanes.

Copp tied the game at 4-4 at 15:59 of the second period, helping the Rangers erase a three-goal deficit. Their offense ended there as the Penguins pulled away in the third. The 27-year-old forward has scored a goal in each of the Rangers' three playoff contests, and he's added 12 shots on net and a plus-1 rating. He'll likely continue to work on the second line with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome.

Copp scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-2 victory over the Penguins. Copp opened the scoring in the first period, burying a feed from Artemi Panarin in the slot. The 27-year-old forward has a goal in back-to-back games to start the series. Copp has been excellent since joining the Rangers at the trade deadline and it looks like his performance has carried over to the playoffs. He posted 18 points (8 goals and 10 assists) in 16 regular-season games with the Blueshirts.

Copp (lower body) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's Game 1 against Pittsburgh, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports. Copp will presumably slot into a top-six role for Tuesday's contest. The 27-year-old forward has racked up eight goals and 18 points through 16 contests since joining the Rangers at the trade deadline.
