On Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes said he thought his star player would finish his career at Real Madrid. But shortly after, Ronaldo said he wants to play in Major League Soccer before his career ends.

"I'm definitely thinking about playing in the USA for a year," he said to FHM"I've always said living and playing there is a possibility.

"I'm not shutting the door on any league or on any place."

That's big news for Major League Soccer as it aims to expand. The league is moving to 24 teams in the near future, and big-market clubs will certainly be the favorites to land the former Manchester United man if he indeed does cross the Atlantic to play in MLS.

It sounds like Ronaldo and Mendes aren't exactly on the same page when it comes to this. Ronaldo was also flirting around with PSG brass midweek, but he likely wouldn't head over to MLS in the next few years as he is still only 30 years old and surely has some more sensational years ahead. But it's big to have him express his intentions of playing in MLS. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen.
