Knicks star's civil case involving an alleged sexual assault is scheduled for the fall

Accompanying the New York Knicks' acquisition of Derrick Rose on Wednesday are ongoing proceedings of Derrick Rose's sexual assault civil case.
#Rose's sexual battery case goes to trial Oct. 4, first day of preseason. #Knicks could start the season with a PR nightmare if he's liable.

A lawsuit was filed last August alleging that Rose was involved in a gang rape of a woman whose identity is being shielded in court documents.
Rose denied the allegations immediately.
Deadspin has more on the court documents here.
A former roommate of the plaintiff described the woman's case as a "sham" in a deposition given in pre-trial proceedings.
Basketball implications are inescapable given Rose's star status, compounded by the New York market. The Bulls traded Rose, Justin Holiday, and a draft pick to New York Wednesday in exchange for Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, and Jerian Grant.
