Through 3 Quarters

Both the Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers suffered losses in their previous contests, but the Hawks are closer to making up for it. It's still tight after three quarters, with Atlanta leading 90-88.

Atlanta has been led by point guard Trae Young, who so far has dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten dimes in addition to five boards. Point guard Malcolm Brogdon has led the way so far for the Pacers, as he has 20 points and eight assists along with five rebounds.

Indiana hasn't lost 100% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this season, so a win here would be refreshing.

Current Records: Atlanta 11-10; Indiana 9-14

What to Know

The Atlanta Hawks will take on the Indiana Pacers at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse after having had a few days off. If the matchup is anything like Indiana's 133-126 win from their previous meeting in May, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

The point spread favored the Hawks this past Saturday, but luck did not. They fell to the New York Knicks 99-90. Despite the loss, Atlanta had strong showings from point guard Trae Young, who shot 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and finished with 33 points and seven dimes, and center Clint Capela, who posted a double-double on 21 rebounds and 16 points along with three blocks. The game made it Young's fourth in a row with at least 30 points.

Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Indiana as they fell 100-98 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. Indiana's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of power forward Domantas Sabonis, who dropped a triple-double on 25 boards, 16 points, and ten assists, and point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who had 25 points and five assists in addition to six rebounds. That's Sabonis' first triple-double of the season.

The losses put Atlanta at 11-10 and the Pacers at 9-14. A pair of stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Hawks come into the contest boasting the fourth fewest fouls per game in the league at 17.4. On the other end of the spectrum, Indiana is fourth worst in the league in fouls per game, with 20.5 on average. Keep an eye on whether or not foul trouble puts Indiana in a difficult position.
