Through 3 Quarters

The Toronto Raptors were expected to win this one, and they are just one quarter away from fulfilling that expectation. After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the San Antonio Spurs as the Raptors lead 97-81.

Toronto has been led by point guard Fred VanVleet, who so far has shot 7-for-14 from downtown and has recorded 33 points and seven dimes. Those points put VanVleet near his season high of 35. One thing to keep an eye out for is Pascal Siakam's foul situation as he currently sits at four.

San Antonio has been relying on the performance of center Jakob Poeltl, who has dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds along with four assists.

the Spurs have lost 100% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this year, so this one seems just about wrapped up

Who's Playing

San Antonio @ Toronto

Current Records: San Antonio 14-21; Toronto 16-17

What to Know

The San Antonio Spurs will take on the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena after having had a few days off. Toronto should still be riding high after a win, while the Spurs will be looking to right the ship.

San Antonio fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Detroit Pistons this past Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 117-116. San Antonio lost 117-116 to Detroit on a last-minute jumper from Detroit's small forward Saddiq Bey with 0:02 left to play. Small forward Keldon Johnson wasn't much of a difference maker for San Antonio; Johnson played for 38 minutes with 4-for-18 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Raptors had enough points to win and then some against the New York Knicks on Sunday, taking their contest 120-105. Toronto's point guard Fred VanVleet did his thing and shot 7-for-13 from downtown and finished with 35 points, five dimes and five rebounds.

San Antonio is expected to lose this next one by 6.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 12-4 against the spread when expected to lose.

San Antonio is now 14-21 while Toronto sits at 16-17. The Raptors are 7-8 after wins this season, and the Spurs are 8-12 after losses.
