  • Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Collects assist in Game 4 win

Trouba recorded an assist, two shots on goal, six hits and five blocked shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Trouba has a helper in each of the last two contests after going 11 games without a point following his return from a lower-body injury at the end of March. The defenseman added 17 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over four playoff outings. Trouba should continue to serve in a shutdown role for the Rangers heading into the second round. He had 22 points, 191 hits and 183 blocked shots over 69 regular-season appearances.

  • Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere: Bags helper in win

Lafreniere notched a power-play assist in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Lafreniere set up a Jack Roslovic empty-netter to help the Rangers secure the 4-0 sweep over the Capitals. During the first round, Lafreniere produced four assists, seven shots on net, eight hits and a plus-1 rating over four contests. The winger had a career-high 57 points, including six on the power play, and 217 shots on net over 82 regular-season appearances this year.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Posts power-play helper

Fox had a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Fox helped out on Artemi Panarin's third-period tally, which was the game-winner. After a slow start in the postseason, Fox has a helper in each of the last two games. He's added four shots on net, 13 blocked shots and four hits over four playoff outings. Fox put up 73 points over 72 regular-season games and should continue to provide strong all-around play from his spot on the Rangers' top pairing.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Dishes pair of assists

Zibanejad recorded two power-play assists in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Zibanejad set up goals by Vincent Trocheck and Artemi Panarin in this contest. In the first round, Zibanejad was active on offense with a goal, six assists, four power-play points and 12 shots on net over four games. He should continue to see heavy usage in all situations throughout the playoffs.

  • Rangers' Jack Roslovic: Deposits empty-netter

Roslovic scored an empty-net goal on the power play in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Roslovic was able to put the icing on the cake for the Rangers' first-round sweep over the Capitals. The 27-year-old has two goals (both on the power play) and two assists over four playoff contests, and he's added seven shots on net and five hits. Roslovic is seeing top-six minutes at even strength, but he shouldn't be expected to sustain his scoring success as the matchups get tougher later in the postseason. He had just nine goals and 31 points over 59 regular-season outings between the Blue Jackets and the Rangers.

  • Rangers' Kaapo Kakko: Finds twine early in Game 4

Kakko scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.

Kakko tallied just 57 seconds into the contest. He snapped a nine-game point drought with the goal. Over four playoff outings, Kakko has eight shots on net, six hits and a plus-1 rating while logging bottom-six minutes. With the Rangers enjoying relatively good health, Kakko doesn't have an obvious path to a larger role, so his offense is likely to remain limited.

The 30-year-old wrapped up the first round with three goals, three assists, three power-play points, nine shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-2 rating over four contests. Trocheck scored a power-play goal and added a shorthanded assist in Friday's 3-1 Game 3 win over the Capitals.

That's back-to-back two-point efforts for the 30-year-old as the Rangers move closer to sweeping the Caps. Friday's power-play tally was Trocheck's first since March 9, but he has two goals and five points through three playoff games -- a big turnaround after he finished the regular season with zero goals and two assists in eight April contests.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Sharp in Game 3 win

Shesterkin made 28 saves Friday during a 3-1 win over the Capitals in Game 3 of the Rangers' first-round series.

John Carlson beat Shesterkin from the blue line with a knuckleball shot less than six minutes into the first period, but it only got the Rangers netminder mad, and he shut the door on Washington the rest of the way. Shesterkin has allowed only five goals on 75 shots while going 3-0 to begin the Rangers' postseason run, and they'll look for the sweep Sunday in Game 4.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Sets up power-play goal in win

Fox emerged with a power-play assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Capitals to take Game 3.

Fox didn't have a point in the previous two games of the series, which comes as a bit of a surprise after he doled out 56 helpers on his way to 73 points in the regular season. Nonetheless, the Rangers have the momentum and are in prime position to try and advance to the second round in Sunday's Game 4 matchup on the road.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated to face Capitals

Shesterkin is slated to start on the road against Washington in Game 3 on Friday, according to Seth Orlemann of USA Today.

Shesterkin won the first two contests of the series while stopping 42 of 46 shots (.913 save percentage). The Capitals ranked 28th offensively with just 2.63 goals per game in the regular season, so it's not surprising that they haven't given Shesterkin much trouble in the first round. That said, the series moving to Washington might help the Capitals, who were 22-12-7 at home compared to 18-19-4 on the road during the 2023-24 campaign.

Wennberg took a maintenance day Thursday, but he was back on the ice for morning skate Friday. The 29--year-old will center the third line between Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko while seeing second-unit power-play time in Game 3. Wennberg had only one goal and four assists in 19 games with the Rangers following his trade from Seattle on March 6.
