Syracuse @ Duke
Current Records: Syracuse 9-9; Duke 14-3
What to Know
After a three-game homestand, the Syracuse Orange will be on the road. 'Cuse and the #6 Duke Blue Devils will face off in an ACC battle at noon ET Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Orange haven't won a contest against Duke since Jan. 14 of 2019, but they'll be looking to end the drought.
The Clemson Tigers typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday 'Cuse proved too difficult a challenge. 'Cuse enjoyed a cozy 91-78 victory over Clemson. 'Cuse got double-digit scores from four players: guard Buddy Boeheim (25), guard Joseph Girard III (23), center Jesse Edwards (15), and forward Jimmy Boeheim (13). Jesse Edwards has also now had at least three blocks in his past three games.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils were just a bucket shy of a win on Tuesday and fell 79-78 to the Florida State Seminoles. Guard Trevor Keels wasn't much of a difference maker for Duke; Keels finished with only nine points on 3-for-11 shooting in his 29 minutes on the court.
'Cuse have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 11.50 point spread they are up against. The odds have been favorable for them against the spread on the road this season, even if it's been tough sledding overall. They are 3-1 ATS in away games but only 9-9 all in all.
'Cuse's win brought them up to 9-9 while Duke's defeat pulled them down to 14-3. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Orange are 28th worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 75.7 on average. The Blue Devils' offense has more to brag about, as they they enter the game with 82.8 points per game on average, good for ninth best in college basketball. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
