UMKC @ Missouri
Current Records: UMKC 0-2; Missouri 1-0
What to Know
The UMKC Kangaroos will square off against the Missouri Tigers on the road at 8 p.m. ET on Monday at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou should still be riding high after a win, while the Kangaroos will be looking to right the ship.
A victory for UMKC just wasn't in the stars this past Friday as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They were completely outmatched by the Iowa Hawkeyes on the road and fell 89-57. Guard Evan Gilyard II just could not get things rolling his way, finishing with only six points on 3-for-12 shooting in his 27 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, Mizzou beat the Central Michigan Chippewas 78-68 last Tuesday. Five players on Mizzou scored in the double digits: Javon Pickett (18), Jarron Coleman (14), Amari Davis (14), Ronnie DeGray III (13), and Kobe Brown (10).
UMKC is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 0-2 ATS when expected to lose.
UMKC's defeat took them down to 0-2 while Missouri's win pulled them up to 1-0. In Missouri's win, Javon Pickett had 18 points in addition to five boards and Jarron Coleman had 14 points and five assists. We'll see if the Kangaroos have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
