Who's Playing

Fresno State @ California

Current Records: Fresno State 4-0; California 2-4

What to Know

The California Golden Bears will take on the Fresno State Bulldogs at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday at home. Fresno State will be strutting in after a win while the Golden Bears will be stumbling in from a loss.

It looks like California got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. It was close but no cigar for California as they fell 62-59 to the Seton Hall Pirates last week. The defeat was just more heartbreak for California, who fell 60-57 when the teams previously met in December of 2016. Guard Jordan Shepherd just could not get things rolling his way, finishing with only six points on 3-for-13 shooting and turning the ball over four times in his 38 minutes on the court.

As for Fresno State, they have more to be thankful for after their game against the Santa Clara Broncos this past Thursday. The Bulldogs took their contest against Santa Clara 59-52.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Golden Bears are expected to win a tight contest. They hadn't treated fans well this season, but they at least enjoy a 4-2 record against the spread.

California is now 2-4 while Fresno State sits at 4-0. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: California is 48th worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 64.7 on average. Fresno State's defense has more to brag about, as they they come into the matchup boasting the 30th fewest points allowed per game in college basketball at 58.2.
