Belmont @ Drake
Current Records: Belmont 3-2; Drake 3-0
What to Know
The Drake Bulldogs will take on the Belmont Bruins at 7:30 p.m. ET Thursday at HP Field House. The game is expected to be a close one, with Drake going off at just a 2-point favorite.
It was a close one, but on Saturday the Bulldogs sidestepped the Richmond Spiders for a 73-70 win. Drake got double-digit scores from four players: Tremell Murphy (18), Roman Penn (12), Tucker DeVries (11), and D.J. Wilkins (10).
As for Belmont, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 83-53 punch to the gut against the LSU Tigers on Monday. A silver lining for Belmont was the play of Will Richard, who had 16 points along with five boards.
Drake's victory brought them up to 3-0 while the Bruins' defeat pulled them down to 3-2. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Bulldogs rank 24th in college basketball when it comes to points per game, with 86.3 on average. Less enviably, Belmont is stumbling into the contest with the 41st most points allowed per game in college basketball, having given up 77 on average.
