Connecticut @ Xavier

Current Records: Connecticut 16-6; Xavier 16-7

What to Know

Get ready for a Big East battle as the #24 Connecticut Huskies and the #25 Xavier Musketeers will face off at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Cintas Center. UConn will be strutting in after a victory while the Musketeers will be stumbling in from a loss.

UConn was able to grind out a solid win over the Marquette Golden Eagles on Tuesday, winning 80-72. Guard Tyrese Martin and forward Adama Sanogo were among the main playmakers for UConn as the former posted a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Xavier was close but no cigar on Wednesday as they fell 73-71 to the Seton Hall Pirates. Despite the defeat, Xavier got a solid performance out of guard Paul Scruggs, who had 21 points and seven assists in addition to seven rebounds.

The Huskies are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Creighton Bluejays Feb. 1 easily too and instead slipped up with a 59-55. In other words, don't count the Musketeers out just yet.
