No one will be able to recreate the drama of those final moments in Columbus, Ohio. It brought Urban Meyer to the ground and set Jim Harbaugh off on a tirade regarding the officiating. Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell has been on the sideline for every edition of "The Game" since 2002, and he even said the 30-27 Buckeyes win would be "hard to top" in his memory.

"I don't know if there's one that's been this up-and-down, this stressful and this gratifying, to be honest with you," Fickell told reporters after the game. "It definitely ranks up there and it's going to be hard to top it."

College football had a moment on this rivalry weekend, dominating the sports world with an incredible Ohio State-Michigan game, wild coaching rumors and a host of unexpected results. With Ohio State beating Michigan and Penn State claiming the Big Ten East's spot in the title game, the College Football Playoff only got murkier. But who cares about figuring out the playoff when there's this much fun football unfolding in the sport's last full weekend.

After a wild Saturday in college football, CBS Sports projects what the updated AP Top 25 will look like on Sunday.

Note: Projections will be updated as results are final. Teams with an asterisk (*) are still in action.

1. Alabama (Previous AP Top 25 ranking -- 1): Much of Alabama's playoff resume was built with soon-to-be pros on the field. After a few more injuries, the Tide are down to the second and third-stringers in a few spots, which just means younger future pros are out there now. Nick Saban's player development and program development will be the difference the rest of the way as the team chases another title.

2. Ohio State (2): J.T. Barrett had the ball in his hands when the game was on the line, but giving it to Curtis Samuel has kept the Buckeyes in the national title hunt. They'll need a lot of help to jump a conference champion in the playoff rankings, but there's no doubt who is the most qualified at-large team in the country.

3. Clemson (4): Clemson spanked South Carolina 56-7. Mike Williams had three touchdowns and Dabo Swinney made it real easy to view the Tigers as a playoff team heading into December.

4. Washington (6): No one was more impressive on rivalry weekend than Washington. Other victories were harder to come by, but going on the road to beat rival Washington State handily improved the Huskies' playoff stock and might have booked Jake Browning a spot in New York as a Heisman finalist.

5. Wisconsin (5): The Badgers defeated Minnesota to retain Paul Bunyan's ax and extend the longest winning streak (13) in the 126-year series history.

6. Oklahoma (7): Bye -- vs. Oklahoma State next week for the Big 12 title.

7. Michigan (3): How far will Michigan tumble? I doubt the Wolverines fall from the top 10 in the polls, but the damage to the psyche of Michigan fans is done. There is no silver lining in the form of ranking updates when Big Ten title chances and College Football Playoff chances go out the window. Michigan outplayed Ohio State with a banged-up quarterback for long stretches of a tightly played game and was on the wrong end of a few tough calls. This loss stings in the worst way.

8. Penn State (8): With a victory against Michigan State, Penn State booked a spot in the Big Ten title game representing the East division. The CFP Selection Committee is willing to consider the fact that teams get better as the season unfolds as it considers Penn State, a team with losses to Michigan and Pitt, for the playoff. AP voters won't be as kind, likely leaving the Nittany Lions below Michigan in the top 10.

9. Colorado (9): In beating Utah, the Buffs clinched the Pac-12 South and set up a meeting with Washington in the title game on Friday. While Colorado couldn't get out of its own way for three quarters against the Utes, the Huskies got an extra day of rest and an evening full of prep thanks to their victory in the Apple Cup one night earlier.

10. Oklahoma State (10): Bye -- at Oklahoma next week for the Big 12 title.

11. USC (12): Adoree Jackson ready for a Heisman Trophy push? Get prepared for it. Voters have to find a No. 2 and No. 3 candidate to join Lamar Jackson, who might have lost some votes himself with a loss to Kentucky.

12. Florida State (15): The senior class made history in beating Florida, going out as the only group to go 8-0 against Miami and UF. After a rocky start, the Seminoles won six of their final seven games with the only setback coming by three points to Clemson.

13. Western Michigan (14): Unbeaten Western Michigan is one victory away from sealing its spot in the New Year's Six. The Broncos will play Ohio next week in the MAC Championship Game.

14. West Virginia (19): Losses elsewhere will move WVU up, but a victory at Iowa State with a hobbled roster won't do much to change voters' perceptions of the Mountaineers.

15. Louisville (11): Bad, bad home loss for Bobby Petrino and Lamar Jackson. Both will be back for vengeance in 2017, but the four-turnover performance by Jackson could cost him some Heisman Trophy votes. There is no way Jackson loses more than his lead on the award thanks to offensive numbers that compare favorably to Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow and Cam Newton in their Heisman-winning years.

16. Auburn (16): How much will Auburn be penalized for the loss at Alabama? The Tigers could be out of the rankings entirely or sit still in the high-teens. No clue.

17. Florida (13): The Gators offense really struggled against the Seminoles, and it made it tough to expect a competitive game once Florida State jumped out to a big lead in the second half. Florida's only touchdown came from its special teams; Dalvin Cook nearly outgained UF himself.

18. Stanford (NR): Stanford wrapped its regular season with a notable 9-3 record thanks to six consecutive victories. The competition got easier as the season unfolded, with some bad defenses -- on Saturday, it was Rice -- helping cure the offensive woes.

19. LSU (25): Beating up on Texas A&M with the future star running back (Derrius Guice) made hiring the guy on the sideline as the future head coach a little easier to sell. All the LSU buzz will give the Tigers a slight boost as other teams lose, but there's little chance this 7-4 group gets higher than No. 20.

20. Virginia Tech (NR): Justin Fuente went and hung half-a-hundred on the rival Wahoos, sending the Hokies to the ACC title game with some juice and winning over the hearts of Virginia Tech fans across southwest Virginia. Getting VT back to the ACC title game and whooping up on a rival on the way is the kind of stuff that gets you a lot of wiggle room moving forward.

21. Navy (NR): Did you see what Navy did to SMU? It wasn't nice. In their 75-31 romp, the Midshipmen exceeded 60 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 1917 and booked a spot in the AAC championship game.

22. Nebraska (17): There is a chance the Cornhuskers fall from the top 25 after getting blasted by Iowa, but a lack of three-loss teams could keep them hanging on near the edge of the rankings.

23. South Florida (NR): Quinton Flowers and Marlon Mack are leading an offense that has put up 30-plus points in 16 consecutive games, and USF finished the regular season 10-2. But because of a loss to Temple earlier this year, the Bulls won't be able to compete for the American Athletic Conference championship next weekend.

24. Pittsburgh (NR): The Panthers made history against Syracuse setting the record for most points scored in an FBS game in the 76-61 shootout. As impressive? Another eight-win season for Pat Narduzzi with a chance to get a bowl win after a another second-place finish in the Coastal Division. The goal was for ACC championship contention, but record-setting offensive numbers and a signature victory at Clemson makes for a strong body of work for the 2016 regular season.

25. Boise State (20): Air Force knocked off Boise State, bouncing the Broncos from the Mountain West title game and New Year's Six contention.

Projected to drop out of the AP Top 25: Houston (18), Utah (21), Texas A&M (22), Washington State (23), Tennessee (24)
