Koivula was a healthy scratch for the fourth straight game as the Islanders played host to the Predators on Thursday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Koivula was recalled from Bridgeport in late November when the Islanders had what seemed like half their team on the COVID-19 protocols. He played three games and had one point, an assist. Since the team has gotten healthier, he has been a spectator, and with Casey Cizikas (COVID-19) starting to skate with the team, it seems likely that Koivula will be the odd man out and sent back to Bridgeport once Cizikas is activated.
