Australian cricket icon Shane Warne died on Friday at the age of 52. Warne was found unresponsive in his villa in Thailand and his management company, MPC Entertainment, said in a statement that he died of a suspected heart attack.

"It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4th March," MPC Entertainment said in a statement provided to CNN. "Shane was found unresponsive in his Villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived."

Warne's death is not being viewed as suspicious by local police, according to the Times of India.

Warne was one of the greatest cricket players ever. His resume included the most Test wickets for an Australian at 708 and the second-most in the history of the sport, coming in behind only Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka.

The Australian is widely known as the best leg-spinner the sport has ever seen, was named one of Wisden's five cricketers of the 20th century and took home the title of Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World three times during his storied career, according to CNN.

Warne's last tweet was sent out less than 24 hours prior to his death. On Thursday night, he tweeted about the death of cricket icon Rod Marsh, referring to him in the message as "a legend of our great game."
