This year's trade market brought plenty of action in the days, hours and minutes leading up to the 4 p.m. ET deadline. The Dodgers made the first big move, adding infielder Manny Machado during the All-Star break, and several big names wound up moving in the hour or so before the deadline itself.
The Pirates landed the biggest name in the pitching market by acquiring Chris Archer, while the Braves countered by sending four prospects to Baltimore for Kevin Gausman. The Dodgers double-dipped in the infield, bringing in Brian Dozier from the Twins to slot alongside Machado. The Brewers won the "in under the buzzer" award by coming to terms on a deal for Orioles infielder Jonathan Schoop right before the deadline.
