Let's be honest, bacon is delicious. Yet it is also quite fatty and not the most nutritious thing to eat.

You don't have to tell LeBron James about the intoxicating dangers of pork though, because in a show of great will power, the Cleveland Cavaliers star has not eaten the other white meat for the last seven years.

According to James, cutting pork from his diet has helped him stay healthy and continue to play at a high level as his career has progressed. From Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com:

For the last seven years, he said he has eliminated pork from his diet. One of his uncles first suggested he give it a try about a decade ago to see if he might notice an improvement in his physical wellness.

After initially refusing, James eventually gave it a shot and never looked back.

"Oh, you can tell the difference," James told cleveland.com. "It's in how I recover, the energy I have. It has helped a lot with my performance. Overall, I've just been feeling good."

...

"It has worked for me," James said to cleveland.com. "It has been one of the best things I've decided to do for my career."

Haynes reports that James' diet mainly consists of chicken and fish. You know, healthy stuff.

Many NBA players have strict diets like James but you can't argue with the results. Since giving up pork seven years ago, James has been in the finals five straight times and could likely make it a sixth this season. A small change that seems to have made a drastic positive result in James' career.
