Alabama picked up its second top-100 basketball commitment of the day on Monday, when four-star power forward Noah Clowney announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide live on CBS Sports HQ. Clowney's commitment follows a pledge from five-star wing Brandon Miller earlier in the day, as third-year Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats continues to thrive on the recruiting trail.

At 6-foot-9, Clowney is ranked the No. 62 overall player in the 2022 class by the 247Sports Composite and is considered the top player in the class from South Carolina. He chose Alabama over Indiana and Virginia Tech to give the Crimson Tide their third commitment of the 2022 class. In addition to the Monday commitment from Miller, Oats also landed a verbal commitment from five-star point guard Jaden Bradley on Sept. 30.

Collectively, the trio of top-100 players should give Alabama one of the SEC's best classes after the Crimson Tide brought in the league's No. 4 ranked class last year headlined by five-star guard JD Davison.

As for Clowney, he may be the lowest-ranked of Alabama's three class of 2022 commitments, but he still has plenty of upside as 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi wrote about Clowney last week:

"A long and wiry frontcourt player, Clowney can really run the floor, plays above the rim in traffic, blocks shots and he's showed much improved shooting touch and ability to take opposing defenders off the dribble in the last six months. He'll still need to add strength in the weight room, but he projects as a potential multiple year starter for whichever program he picks on Monday."

With Monday's commitments from Miller and Clowney, Alabama moves up 42 spots in the 247Sports Composite rankings, jumping from No. 52 to No. 10.
