Holt (concussion) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
After an absence lasting over one month due to a concussion, Holt was officially activated Friday. Holt's versatility will be a significant boon for the Red Sox given their rash of injuries all over the diamond, namely in left field. Holt figures to take over most of the playing time in left field now that he's healthy, but he could also fill in for Travis Shaw at third when Shaw needs a rest day. Boston has yet to release its lineup for Friday, but Holt figures to return at some point in the very near future.
