  • Hartman didn't appear on the ice for warmups and will be a healthy scratch against New Jersey on Sunday, Tracey Myers of NBC Sports Chicago reports. This is certainly a surprising scratch, as Hartman has appeared in all 17 of Chicago's games so far, posting a solid 10 points. Head coach Joel Quenneville could simply be trying to energize his forward core by switching up the lines since the team has been dealing with offensive woes as of late, but this is a situation to keep an eye on moving forward.

  • Blackhawks' Ryan Hartman: Fined for slashing
    By RotoWire Staff

Hartman received a fine of $2,320.79 for slashing Brayden McNabb in Tuesday night's game against the Golden Knights. As odd a figure as it might seem, this is the maximum fine permitted under the terms of the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement. Hartman delivered three hits and collected four PIM in the loss to the expansion club, but he's currently in the midst of a three-game pointless stretch.

  • Hartman potted his second goal of the season and added an assist in Thursday's loss to the Wild. Hartman is faring well on the second line to start the season, notching two goals and eight points through five games. The bulk of those points came in the lopsided season opener against Pittsburgh, but Hartman is proving his 19-goal season in 2016-17 was no fluke. The 23-year-old is well on his way to a successful sophomore campaign and his top-six role, combined with his PIM and goal scoring, makes him worth owning in a variety of leagues.

  • Blackhawks' Ryan Hartman: Five points in opener
    By RotoWire Staff

Hartman chipped in a goal, four assists and a plus-5 rating in Thursday's season-opening 10-1 win over Pittsburgh. Hartman got the scoring started 6:21 into the first period and threw in four assists as the game unfolded. All of his production came at even strength, as Chicago remarkably failed to convert on any of its six power-play opportunities despite the lopsided score. Hartman will have plenty of value as long as he's skating on a line with Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz.

  • Blackhawks' Ryan Hartman: Pots 19th of season
    By RotoWire Staff

Hartman's goal in the second period against Colorado on Tuesday was his 19th of the season. With one more goal, Hartman will become the fifth rookie to score 20 goals this season. After honing his craft over two seasons with AHL Rockford, Hartman is clearly ready for prime time, and the 2013 first-round pick has provided some reliable depth scoring this season. He's not the most highly skilled player, but what he lacks in skill, he makes up for with his tenaciousness; Hartman ranks third among rookies with 70 penalty minutes. He's going to be a key player in Chicago for many years.
