  • Romanov had one shot on net, one hit, one blocked shot and a 10-minute misconduct penalty in Saturday's 6-4 loss to Ottawa. Montreal and Ottawa can't play a game without acrimony. A kerfuffle broke out late in the first period when Romanov and Alex Formenton were each sent off for 10 minutes. Three minor penalties were also assessed. Romanov ranks fifth on the Canadiens with 53 PIM in 76 games.

  • Romanov had an assist, two shots on net, one hit and six blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Florida. Romanov's missive from the point was tipped in by Jake Evans, giving the young defenseman five points (one goal, four assists) over the last seven contests. The scoring spree comes after a 21-game stretch of futility. Romanov led all Montreal blueliners with 22:52 of ice timee after top-pair defender Jeff Petry was removed due to a lower-body injury.

  • Romanov had an assist, three shots on net, two hits, three blocked shots and four PIM in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to Boston. Romanov worked a give-and-go with blueline mate David Savard for the Canadiens' first goal. He also embedded himself in the Boston-Montreal rivalry by cross-checking noted villain Brad Marchand early in the first period. He picked up a tripping infraction later in the game. Romanov has four points in the last six games, but scoring is not what he brings. His 192 hits leads the Habs.

  • Romanov scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to Seattle on Saturday. The points snapped a 21-game drought. Romanov was the preseason favorite to take the giant leap forward onto the power play and help lead the Habs' blue line. That fell flat, but there's always next year (or the year after).
