You think Sergio Garcia was happy to win the 2017 Masters and take home the nearly $2 million first prize plus a green jacket? He might have been the only person happier than the one who bet on him to do so.

Bovada revealed that someone had parlayed $60 on Rickie Fowler to win the Honda Classic in March at 16/1 and Garcia to win the Masters in April at 40/1. The net result? A $41,773 windfall.

This is a preposterous bet, of course, that you’re going to almost never win. It’s tough enough to pick the winner of a tournament in a single week, but to pick two a full month apart with one of them -- at 40/1 odds -- who rarely plays well at Augusta National? Come on, that’s outrageous.

But it happened.

One of the most tortured golfers in major championship history finally won the big one, and somebody profited off of it in the biggest way. I just hope this bettor didn’t wager on the first 73 Garcia didn’t win.
