Bill Murray recently released his own clothing line, William Murray Golf, and now it seems he's going to open a sports bar with a "Caddyshack" theme near his beloved city of Chicago.
Two new restaurants, including a golf-themed sports bar run by Bill Murray and his brothers, are in the works to open in Rosemont, officials said.
The bar would be within the Crowne Plaza hotel at River Road and Balmoral Avenue, across the street from the Rosemont Theatre box office, according to Mayor Brad Stephens. The Murrays have a verbal agreement for an 11,000-square-foot space inside the hotel and are now working to get a written lease, Stephens said.
That would be awesome, and it would be packed with Cubs fans as Murray is deeply invested in the newest World Series champions. This is not the first such "Caddyshack" restaurant Murray and his brothers are involved with, either. They opened Murray Bros. Caddyshack in Florida in 2001.
This bar looks about like you would expect a "Caddyshack" bar to look.
I'm all for Murray to parlay "Caddyshack" into every feasible retail venture possible. More Murray and more "Caddyshack" in our lives are always a good thing -- especially when wings and beer are involved.
