Top-25 SEC squads meet up on Saturday when the No. 25 Alabama Crimson Tide travel to take on the No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky (19-4, 10-3 SEC) had been rolling, winning six straight, before it lost at Tennessee 76-63 on Tuesday. That recent six-game winning streak included a 66-55 win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Alabama (17-9, 7-6), meanwhile, is heating up. The Crimson Tide have won three straight, helping them bounce back from a stretch where they went 3-6 and fell out of the polls. TyTy Washington Jr. (ankle) is questionable for Kentucky. You can stream the game on Paramount+.
Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. College basketball picks for Alabama vs. Kentucky
Before tuning into the Kentucky vs. Alabama game, you need to see the college basketball picks from SportsLine's advanced computer model. The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated an impressive profit of almost $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college basketball picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen huge returns.
For Alabama vs. Kentucky, the model is projecting that the Wildcats (-7) easily cover the spread. Oddsmakers have overvalued Alabama from a spread standpoint for much of the season. It is just 9-17 against the spread this season with a 5-7 ATS mark on the road. Kentucky, meanwhile, owns an 8-7 ATS record at Rupp Arena this season.
Alabama was actually the one-point favorite in the first matchup this season, but Kentucky easily handled the Crimson Tide in that 66-55 victory on the road. The Wildcats played elite defense in that matchup. They held Alabama to just 28.1 percent shooting from the floor and a dreadful 10 percent mark from 3-point range.
The Tide's guard-oriented lineup doesn't have a great answer for Kentucky forward Oscar Tshiebwe. He scored 10 and pulled down 15 rebounds in the first matchup, and SportsLine's model is calling for another double-double for him on Saturday.
Alabama only has two players -- Jaden Shackelford and Jahvon Quinerly -- hit double figures in the simulations as Kentucky covers well over 50 percent of the time.
