Moran is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Toronto. Toronto is bringing lefty Yusei Kikuchi to the hill for the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Moran will retreat to the bench as the Reds stock up on extra right-handed bats. Joey Votto's recent return from the COVID-19-related injured list blocks Moran's path to playing time at first base moving forward, but Moran could see steady work against right-handed pitching either while playing third base or serving as a designated hitter.

Moran went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBI and three runs during Wednesday's 14-11 win against the Brewers. The 29-year-old didn't hit a home run through his first 19 games of the season, but he now has four long balls and 12 RBI across across the past four contests. Moran had a .463 OPS for the season prior to this four-game stretch, and he's managed to improve his slash line to .215/.289/.431.

Moran went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Pirates. Moran gave the Reds the lead with a grand slam off of Heath Hembree in the sixth inning. He later added a two-run shot in the eighth to provide a couple of insurance runs. It was the 29-year-old's first two homers of the year and he improved his season slash line to .208/.274/.340 with 15 RBI.

Moran will start at first base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Brewers. He'll pick up his second start in a row at first base following Joey Votto's placement on the COVID-19 injured list earlier this week. So long as Votto is out, the lefty-hitting Moran should be a mainstay in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but the Reds could choose to go with another at first base when lefties are on the mound for the opposition.

Moran is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies. Moran finds himself on the bench for the third consecutive game, this time against Colorado lefty Kyle Freeland. Brandon Drury will start at the hot corner Sunday for the Reds.

Moran scorched a foul ball that was almost a HR. It might have landed in the river had it not hit the Pirates Charities sign.
