The Celtics exercised Langford's $5.63 million team option for 2022-23 on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The No. 14 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Langford has struggled to stay healthy through his two-plus seasons in the league, making just 53 appearances in total. With career averages of 2.9 points (on 36.6 percent shooting from the field), 1.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.3 three-pointers and 0.2 blocks in 13.4 minutes, Langford has been one of the NBA's least productive per-minute fantasy contributors during that time. However, he's drawn positive reviews for his defense, and that may be enough for him to hold down a spot as the ninth or 10th man in head coach Ime Udoka's rotation now that he's healthy again.
