Howard will start in the crease Monday against the Kings, per Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill.

Howard has yet to play in 2016 since the Wings have given Petr Mrazek (14-8-3) the honors instead. However, coach Blashill shies away from giving either netminder both sides of a back-to-back set and with Mrazek scheduled to face the Ducks on Sunday, it only makes sense for Howard to give him a break as the Winged Wheel stops in Los Angeles for the fourth match of a six-game road trip. Howard has a lifetime record of 9-4-2 against the Kings and that is backed by a sharp save percentage of .927 and GAA of 2.12.
