  • Sturm recorded an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Predators in Game 2. Sturm set up Cale Makar for the game-winning goal in overtime. The helper snapped a seven-game point drought for Sturm. The 27-year-old center posted a career-high 20 points in 74 regular-season contests between the Avalanche and the Wild. He'll likely continue to see a bottom-six role in the playoffs, so he shouldn't be expected to put up much offense.

  • Sturm had an assist, two hits, one blocked shot and two PIM in Monday's 3-2 loss to Washington. Sturm was part of an aggressive forecheck sequence that led to Artturi Lehkonen's goal midway through the third period. It was Sturm's third point (all assists) in 15 games since joining Colorado on March 18.

  • Sturm notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over the Jets. Sturm helped out on an Erik Johnson goal in the second period. The 26-year-old Sturm has earned two assists in the last three games while seeing more responsibility now that Nazem Kadri (upper body) is out of the lineup. In 63 contests between the Wild and the Avalanche, Sturm has 19 points, 85 shots on net, 80 hits and a minus-4 rating.

  • Sturm had four shots on net, three hits and won 11 of 15 faceoff draws in Friday's 6-3 win over the Flyers. Sturm still seeks his first point in an Avalanche uniform, but he's brought some much needed acumen at the faceoff dot. In four games since his arrival, he's won 27 of 40 draws (67.5 percent). His efforts moved Colorado from 31st to 30th in the league in faceoff win percentage.

  • Sturm had two shots on goal and one hit over 15:07 of ice time in Friday's 5-3 win over the Sharks. Sturm made his Avalanche debut after being acquired from the Wild earlier in the week. He slotted in at third-line center, was part of the first-team penalty kill unit and won six of eight draws. That last contribution is one reason why Colorado traded for him; the Avs rank 31st with a 46.8 faceoff win percentage.
