The green flag will drop on the 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400 at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, and the stakes will be sky-high at Michigan International Speedway for drivers and NASCAR DFS players alike. There have been 13 different playoff-eligible winners this season, while Denny Hamlin has also clinched without a victory. For drivers like Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon and Ryan Newman, that means they'll need a win in the next two weeks to earn a spot in the NASCAR Playoffs.
NASCAR DFS players will be wondering whether that serves as motivation and if they should include them in their 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400 DFS lineups. Kyle Larson is a five-time winner this season and a three-time winner at Michigan, so he could be a popular option in the NASCAR DFS driver pool. Before making any NASCAR DFS picks for the 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400, be sure to check out the optimal NASCAR at Michigan DFS strategy and advice from SportsLine's Mike McClure.
McClure has won almost $2 million in his career as a daily Fantasy pro, and his NASCAR DFS driver pool, projections and advice can help you score a big win on Sunday.
McClure had Chase Elliott listed as his top NASCAR DFS picks last month, and Elliott went on to earn the win at Road America. Then his model nailed the top five two weeks ago in a road race at Watkins Glen. His model, which simulates every race 10,000 times, has called four outright winners this year. Anybody who has followed his picks has seen some huge returns.
Now, he's turned his attention to Sunday's 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400. He's only sharing his picks and NASCAR DFS driver pool here.
Top 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400 NASCAR DFS picks
For NASCAR at Michigan 2021, McClure is high on Martin Truex Jr. ($9,400 on DraftKings, $13,000 on FanDuel). Truex doesn't have a win at Michigan International Speedway in a Cup car, but he does have three runner-up finishes there and also been third six times.
The 41-year-old has finished in the top five in each of his last four starts in Brooklyn, Michigan, and his three wins this season tie him for second-most in the NASCAR Cup Series. He'll start fifth on Sunday and is a strong bet to keep his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota near the front of the pack all day.
Part of McClure's optimal NASCAR DFS strategy also includes rostering Tyler Reddick ($7,400 on DraftKings, $8,500 on FanDuel). The 25-year-old is currently 11th in the standings and if the season ended today he'd be the last driver into the 2021 NASCAR Playoffs.
However, any winner coming from behind Reddick in the standings in the next two races would knock him out of the postseason so he should be extremely motivated to run well the next two weeks. He has 12 top-10 finishes already this season and he's had some success at Michigan in an Xfinity car, winning the 2019 LTi Printing 250 on his way to winning the series championship that season.
How to set 2021 NASCAR at Michigan DFS lineups
McClure is also targeting an undervalued driver set to return plenty of value. He's in a prime position to make a run at the checkered flag and comes at a price that won't break the bank. This pick could be the difference between cashing huge in your NASCAR DFS tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can see every pick here.
