Dolphins vs. Bills updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday

Game Recap

Sunday, the Miami Dolphins were out to avenge their 37-20 defeat to the Buffalo Bills from their previous meeting last November, but they had no such luck. Miami fell in a 31-28 heartbreaker. This makes it the second loss in a row for them.

QB Josh Allen had a stellar game for Buffalo as he passed for four TDs and 417 yards on 35 attempts. Allen ended up with a passer rating of 147. WR Stefon Diggs also helped out with an impressive 153 receiving yards in the victory.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick hadn't helped the Dolphins' cause all that much against the New England Patriots last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. Miami's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Fitzpatrick, who passed for two TDs and 328 yards on 47 attempts, and TE Mike Gesicki, who caught eight passes for one TD and 130 yards. Fitzpatrick's longest connection was to Gesicki for 27 yards in the second quarter.

The game pushed Miami down to 0-2 and pulled Buffalo up to the reverse at 2-0.

Miami will square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday at TIAA Bank Field. Jacksonville is coming in off of a close defeat (33-30 to the Tennessee Titans). As for Buffalo, they will go up against the Los Angeles Rams at 1 p.m. ET next week at Bills Stadium. The defensive coordinators will surely put in extra hours ahead of this contest since these teams' offenses combined for 973 yards this week.
