Payton (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Timberwolves, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Payton will miss his second straight game with back soreness. With Payton and Stephen Curry (hand) both out, Jordan Poole will draw the start while Chris Chiozza and Damion Lee are likely candidates for increased minutes off the bench.
