The Golden Knights have already started soliciting trade offers for Methot, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Well, that didn't take long. The 32-year-old blueliner was plucked from the Senators in the expansion draft despite Ottawa's last-ditch attempts at working out a deal to keep him. Garrioch also reported, via the Ottawa Citizen, that the alleged asking price of Knights GM George McPhee to refrain from selecting Methot was a 2018 first-round pick, which was too rich for the Sens' taste. At any rate, time will tell whether Methot is flipped to another club this summer (he has a 10-team no-trade clause that he doesn't want to amend) or suits up as the Knights' de facto top rearguard this October.
