Malkin scored twice on four shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Malkin struck twice in the second period, the first coming of those goals coming on the power play and standing as the game-winner. He also set up Jeff Carter for an empty-netter in the third. It was a dream of a season debut for Malkin after he missed the first three months of the season while recovering from knee surgery. The 35-year-old was pretty good last year with 28 points in 33 contests, but it was the first season he finished below a point-per-game pace since 2010-11. He should consistently see a second-line role going forward.
