Golden Knights' Alec Martinez: Shifted to LTIR

Martinez (face) was moved to long-term injured reserve Monday, per CapFriendly.

Martinez has already been out of action since Nov. 11, so the change to long-term IR won't impact his recovery timeline. Still, the fact that the Golden Knights opted to make this move in order to gain some cap relief doesn't bode well for the 34-year-old blueliner being cleared to play in the near term.
