Rossi is a healthy scratch Saturday against Carolina, per Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Rossi has struggled so far this season with just one assist through 16 games. Minnesota has been patient with its top prospect as he adjusts to the NHL, but he'll get a breather against a good Carolina team. Nicolas Petan will slot into the lineup in Rossi's absence.
