On Wednesday night, the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series, storming back from a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven series to knock off the Cleveland Indians.

Afterward, two of the country's most important politicians -- both with ties to Chicago and/or the Cubs -- weighed in on the outcome. Here's what President Barack Obama tweeted:

Obama is, of course, a well-known White Sox fan. Yet he seemingly had put away his rooting interests for the sake of the World Series trophy residing somewhere in Chicago.

Meanwhile, though Obama is nearing the end of his stay in the White House, there is one presidential hopeful who is a Cubs fan. Here's what Hillary Clinton, a Chicago native, tweeted about her team:

So, there you have it. If you like mixing your baseball and politics, then today was a good day.
